Gath is the worlds first surf helmet, designed by Western Australian local Ricky Gath in the mid 1980's. It was designed by Ric due to his ongoing issues with surfer's ear due to the harsh weather and combative waves he was charging.

The design was simple create something that can protect against the harsh elements of nature whilst also providing protection against the risk of board or wave collisions. Gath Helmets have continued to grow and with the help of a group of investors have managed create their own company under the name Future Sports which has allowed for the sale of Gath Helmets to enter the market.
